What prompted the creation of The Stress Management Programme?

The aim is to assist individuals in alleviating work-related stress, achieving a healthier work-life balance, and preventing burnout. Effective management of work-related stress is crucial for overall health, mental well-being, and sustained employment. I firmly believe in the efficacy of the tools, steps, tasks, and strategies offered in the programme, complemented by activities such as exercise, spending time in nature, engaging in outdoor pursuits, and participating in sports. These elements collectively aid in better stress management and promote the attainment of mental and physical balance. If you're grappling with the adverse effects of work-related stress, my programme could offer significant benefits.

Mark's Story

With over 25 years in the UK Health and Social Care sector, I've faced countless challenges, particularly work-related stress, which peaked during the Covid pandemic. Managing a homeless drug and alcohol recovery service exposed me to daily crises, which became overwhelming as partner services shut down. Despite not recognising it at the time, I was on the brink of burnout. After pushing through for a further six months, I finally received a diagnosis of burnout from my GP, leading to a seven-month recovery focused on restoring my priorities, balance through exercise, healthy living, and improved sleep.

Unfortunately, the UK offers limited support for those suffering from work-related stress. Beyond minimal help from GPs and a national shortage of mental health services, there are few effective resources available. While there are numerous stress-related apps, they often lack the specialised structure, real-world experience, and personalised, one-to-one human support that many people need. It was this gap in available resources that inspired me to create Stressreliefjourney.com and its Stress Management Programme.

Why This Programme?

Drawing from my personal experiences and insights from leading stress experts, The Stress Management Programme offers practical tools to help professionals manage work-related stress, achieve a healthier work-life balance, and avoid burnout.

In addition to the structured programme, I also offer private one-to-one sessions tailored to individual needs. These sessions provide the personalised support that apps and general programs simply can’t offer.

My Experience

Though I’m not a certified psychologist, I hold the most recent UK-regulated Mental Health qualification and have personally navigated burnout. My hands-on experience in both Health and Social Care and sports instruction uniquely positions me to guide others in stress management.
